Vimeo Exclusive! Vincent Laforet invited us to hang out with him for a few days in the desert on the set of his latest short film, Möbius. Check out our Behind The Scenes feature to see the brand spankin’ new Canon EOS C300 in action.
In conjunction with the release of Vincent Laforet’s Möbius, Canon is announcing its all new line of full frame professional cinema cameras. From the looks of it, the Canon EOS C300 will have the versatility and small size of a DSLR, but the specs set it apart.
Features we’re particularly excited about include:
- An ISO range of 320 - 20,000
- Super 35 sensor
- 2 CF cards for relay or redundant file recording
- Waveform
- Built-in ND filters
- XLR input
- HD-SDI in/out
- Timecode in/out
Pretty awesome to be involved in capturing this awesome film. Congrats to Vincent and everyone else involved! Always awesome to see progress in cameras and technology that allow us to make better films. Let’s just hope the price will go down a bit :)

Vimeo Playlists for Parties!
Here in the states, our favorite holiday is quickly approaching, Halloween. When you outgrow the Trick Or Treating tradition, the next best thing is to have a party. If you’re planning on having a party anytime soon and want to add a little extra ambiance, try making a playlist for a screening!
Vimeo provides all the tools you need to easily set up, select, and screen your playlist at a party. The videos can be played on compatible TVs, and if you’re lucky enough to have a projector at your get-together, it can be hooked up directly to your computer with the proper connection cables. Couch Mode provides the best means of uninterrupted play.
Here are some tips we’d like to pass along:
- Search tags, Likes, Channels, and Groups. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, Categories is a great place to get started and narrow your results.
- Try creating an Album or a Channel. Channels can have more than one moderator if you’re feeling collaborative.
- Eye Candy is key. Try to keep in mind your ambient videos won’t always be able to be heard. So try to find videos that work just as well without the sounds.
- Initiate Couch Mode! Your videos will play through seamlessly and everyone will think you’re a professional party planner.
